Full Review:
Okay, I'm biased. We moved into this building on Jan. 2,1990, and it's the best run co-op I've lived in in New York (three in all; one in the West Village, the other on the Upper West Side). We have a great building staff -- I mean great.
Our maintenance is not out of hand, though it has gone up in five years because of the usual -- door staff contracts, fuel increases, etc. There's not a lot of turnover in the building because people like it here. The neighbors are great. Kid-friendly (one owner keeps a list of every child in the building with parent contact numbers). The board is not a crony board, but a real reflection of the owners. Interviews are not grueling but friendly. The board wants to know whether you'll be a good neighbor and can pay the maintenance. Very eclectic family building. This Co-op Building is Best for:
Anyone and Everyone
